Cleaning Up

Tonight was my underdark D+D game, in which the players managed to pretty much do everything right and mess up the plot by killing the villain. But that's okay, I hadn't written the plot yet, anyway.

One player was absent, so his character was feeling a bit under the weather. Easier than me trying to play him without a character sheet. Grumble grumble. I should make them all give me electronic copies or something.

'yaki sobe

I stumbled across the tester lunch posse on the way to the cafeteria, and got dragged off to Tokyo-Oh, a little teriyaki place within walking distance. This time, instead of pastelike curry, I ordered the hot and spicy chicken, which turned out to be basically barbequed chicken slices. Which are surprisingly good on rice.

Half the group ordered teriyaki burritos this time; Apparently it's the upcoming favorite entree. Derek, the test lead for my app, ordered the vegetarian curry, since apparently it's only the chicken curry that's totally ick. Or maybe he likes paste.

The new tester that I accidentally snubbed on Monday (by fleeing just as she arrived) was there. She's very quiet. Everyone else was chatty, though. Apparently the new in-joke is in a corvette! after the radio commercial that was playing a while back. We started adding it to the end of fortune cookies, although since the restaurant didn't serve fortune cookies we had to use 'fun facts' on the inside of snapple bottlecaps. This didn't work quite as well.

"Alaska has more caribou than people, in a corvette!"
"A duck can't walk without bobbing its head up and down, in bed!" (sometimes you have to use the old classics)

One of them was funny, but I don't remember it. Grrr.
