Item: Transmute all is useless to me because it litters my inventory with 'waiting for server' objects. They go away when I log off, at least, so I'm not *permanently* screwed. I just can't use transmute all. Which I was really looking forwards to -- when hunting moarsmen they respawn faster than I can loot and 'mute. Apparently, this doesn't happen to everyone. I'm *special* (probably 'using dialup').

Item: The quest to get a mount should probably not be attempted solo, at least not by FIs. Damn skeleton riders use AOE spells to toast my beetle and me at the same time. And *all* the mobs have 4k hp -- group mobs 2 levels above me.

Item: Mounts look cool, at least.

I'm STILL working on something I should have been done with yesterday. Worse, I'm still on the part of it that should have been inflexibly over yesterday. It's all because of a certain DLL, let's call it M. I'm forced to do most of my work in M instead of X because B (a person, not a DLL) wants to use the stuff too. M is not written in precisely the same language as X. M is definately not written in the same developer mindset as X. M occasionally requires you to export bits of itself to itself. M gives errors if you fail to explicitly not use the return value of a function. M occasionally mangles the names of its functions, and occasionally does not -- that it's doing it is hidden by the compiler, and when it's doing it is hidden by a mixture of #defines and #pragmas. So, getting M to build with the new code -- much less export the API -- is a task that is PISSING ME OFF.

At least once I finish this I can... try to debug the code without the needed resources existing yet. Joy. -.-

After briefly getting on to AC2 after getting home from work, I got kicked off when MSN flaked... although, to be fair, at least part of it is probably the phone cable connection going wonky -- I switched it to a different outlet (even though this means I have to step over the cable whenever I enter my apartment) and it looks more stable, although since the only thing that was ever *really* unstable was AC2 it's hard to tell.

And what the hell is up with that? My dialup is stable unless I try to play AC2... at which point it loses the connection to the ISP. How does what I connect to through the ISP affect the connection from my computer to the ISP? Fucking network crap.

Anyway, after getting kicked off... I can't get back on at all. I'm now one of the lucky VERY VERY MANY who can't get past 'connecting to the authentication server'. Whatever the bug is, it seems to be contagious.

So... fuck.

Now, let's go to my other computer and see if I can read e-mail tonight! [EDIT: yes, I can, thank god! Figured out what was wrong -- it was crashing because I had an unsent message waiting in my outbox. Not that that is by any stretch of the imagination a situation worth crashing over.]
