Game called on account of... *yawn*
Feb. 11th, 2003 11:12 pmTonight was supposed to be Dan's D+D game, but he flaked and didn't show up -- sort of getting to be a habit!
Lance came to run Traveller, but decided he didn't like the way the Traveller game was going and wanted to start over without the prior history stuff giving some people better characters than others. As the DM, I kind of wonder why that's any of his business -- as far as I know, no one else was complaining. But then, I suppose I might not know.
There were some discussion of other systems, but I vetoed D+D because I'm already in Tom's and Dan's D+D games, Luis vetoed Dragonstar because he didn't want to have to buy any more books (and how could he properly min-max his character without the books?), and no one liked Ed's suggestion of a high level Planescape campaign or Vampire: The Masquerade. No one wanted to play GURPS, or BESM, or Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or Nobilis... so, yeah. We ended up eventually settling on the DM's original choice.
Between making new characters and arguing about which system to use, it was 10 or so by the time we started playing. We played for about an hour, but didn't really accomplish much. MOstly because everyone was falling asleep.
