The net at work is down. Totally down. As in, missing. But just for me. Well, okay, not just for me, but I'm one of the lucky few...

Anyway, no net means that I'm basically unable to do anything. I can't even slack off, because, you know, no web! And no public folders! Except... I thought of a roundabout way of getting a little bit of work done via sneakernet. Which I suppose means that I should make the effort. Damn it all to hell.

I'm at home right now, getting my little USB drive, and logging on to the internet to avoid going back to work right away. I could just take the rest of the day of, if I wanted... use up a little vacation time... eh. I'm fairly low and shouldn't waste it. Better to make a futile effort and suffer.

Yay! The network's back up! I can slack now!

Using the little USB drive turned out to be annoying and unreliable, but not nearly as much so as I'd hoped. Er, feared. And since there was nothing else to do, I was forced to actually work diligently. Well, okay, I spent some time 'digesting' after lunch, and wrote a silly first-person story to pass the time while getting up the energy to start the thirty-step process of transferring files again.

All the sentinels got out of sync from the manual file-transfer, though, so right now I'm basically rebuilding everything after doing a full transfer with the scripts to regenerate them.
