Happy ferret dance!
Feb. 17th, 2004 08:53 amYay!
I had the manager come in and take a look around, after cleaning all weekend (and quite a bit yesterday), and she was very impressed and said she'd tell the owners that I'd remedied the problem. Which means that even if I *was* under 10-days notice (I'd have to ask a lawyer if the nasty letter qualified, it lacked any sort of 'or move out' clause) I should be out of danger now.
Now, of course, I need to keep the apartment in its current state of cleanliness, but since this was phase one that should be *possible*. So I might not *have* to move. If I find it aggravating to keep this up over the long term I might move anyway, but she didn't blink twice at the stacks of things coating the top of every bit of furniture (they're organized stacks -- DVDs here, bills there, etc.), so it's a sane kind of clean ('don't have things scattered across the floor') and not an insane kind of clean like I was worried about.
And it did turn out to be an objection to excessive numbers of cardboard boxes, as she didn't mind the stacks against the wall in the storage room.
So, phew. Thank you Lord.
I think I'm going to take the day off anyway -- the maintenance guy needs to get in at some point to make some plan of action for dealing with the mold in the bathroom, and also it'd be nice to have a weekend. I've certainly got the vacation time.
