There's this stupid feature I can't describe which works in mysterious ways, most of them not clearly specced, but the central philosophy was always 'work like this other thing here'.

Now I'm being forced to rewrite it according to some completely arbitrary rules that make no sense, bear no relation to reality, help no one do anything, and basically make the entire feature useless, to anyone, ever.

Surprisingly, this is pissing me off.
