Merchant: The Accounting
Jan. 16th, 2004 11:08 amWe were supposed to play D+D last night, but Louis cancelled early, and Patrick cancelled a few minutes after the last second, so it ended up with half of us there, but not enough to play. So we spent the time identifying and adding up all the loot they'd been accumulating, ruining the economy of Waterdeep by flooding it with more than half a million gold pieces worth of Drow stuff.
Ed and Jeff (the players actually present) asked if they could blow most of their shares on +5 manuals of whatever, as if they expected me to object. Hell, a +5 bonus on one stat sounds like a relatively inoffensive way to ditch all that gold to me, compared to, say, a bunch of rings of nine lives -- which Jeff suggested we ban in this campaign, because they're *so* overpowered (they pretty much make it literally impossible to die until they run out of charges -- each charge either heals you to full when you run out of HP, or lets you automatically make a save you just failed) that the only way to deal with the party having them is for all the enemies to have them.
This still leaves them slightly behind the curve in expected wealth for their level. Go figure.
In other news, I'm supposed to pick up Shadarack to give him a ride tonight after all, as he gets off work at 5 and should be able to get home by 6ish. Unless he misses his bus, in which case he's supposed to call me so that I can know not to pick him up, and instead somehow Lazar will know to pick him up at the park+ride in Renton. I can't see this not ending in disaster. v.v
