There was a Crossroads gathering today. There were a bunch of new people whose names I *still* don't know, and Zir was there, which is like the second time I've seen her there EVER. Mostly because I don't go every week, most likely, though.

I decided to get some more D+D random minis from Wizards' going out of business sale, which ended up taking about a half hour standing in line, because they don't have anything resembling automation for the '20% off' process -- if someone buys 10 mini dice at 30 cents each, they have to painstakingly take 20% off each item in turn, by hand. They also have one scanner for two registers, and kept scanning stuff for one on the other and then having to void the transaction, which made the whole process impossible to follow, at least for the customers.

Anyway, after that ordeal, I hung around some more chatting and crap, then went to Fry's with a bunch of people. We parked at Legend's, then carpooled, except for Blue who insisted on taking his own car. Which blew out a coolant line on the freeway, so half the group had to go back and help him fix it. Which meant we spent four hours at Fry's trying to find *something* to look at. One by one, people seemed to find something they were really interested in, and drop out, until it was only me and Darter wandering around through the DVD section.

"Oh look, they DO have porn! Where's the scifi section, though?"

It was really boring. It's a big store, but not THAT big.

We had dinner in their little cafe, annoying the workers who kept pointing out that the store was CLOSING, and we might want to buy our things and LEAVE. The sandwiches were... okay, considering it wasn't a real restaurant. The key lime pie was declared to be crap.

As one of the people riding with Kiefer, I got to wait around and watch Blue's new coolant bubble for a while, then we headed back to Legends to watch 'Adventures of Baron Munchhausen', which was better than I expected. Legend, of course, kept pausing it to narrate and/or point out the special effects he particularly enjoyed. Does he have a commentary track for every DVD in his collection?

Anyway...
