More laziness

I walked to Togo's to get a sandwich for lunch today. I need to save my stored up food to survive the coming Christmas Famine, when nothing is open (except, reportedly, chinese places, although I don't think I've ever personally verified that). It's about the right distance to be the morning walk -- 40 minutes round trip instead of 30, but a lot of the difference is waiting to cross extremely busy streets. Neither NE 8th or Bel-Red can be safely jaywalked, even at 11am on a day when everyone *should* be at home.
I've been reading 'Rats and Gargoyles' by Mary Gentle, which isn't really all that well written, but does have some interesting weirdnesses, like an extra direction on the compass rose (north, east, south, west, and aust, all of which are at 90 degrees from each other) and incarnate devil-gods. Oh, and furries.
