Today Eric continued to run us through an old module converted to 3.5. It started with a big battle, followed by a bunch of exploration of empty rooms and passages.

Around the corner waited the rest of the fanatic forces, including two priests. Al held the barbarians in the doorway, except for one, silenced, who ran past to annoy the mages and try to kill Felinne. He survived for an annoyingly long time, and was still silent even after his death, although his corpse was dragged away.

Meanwhile, Sierra flew out and put a bunch of fighters to sleep, drawing fire from archers and clerics. She was forced to retreat to the top of the temple, where she hid behind some decorative stonework to heal herself. Her cat finished the work of putting the poor fools to sleep.

Eventually, the barbarians were taken down, but the clerics were mostly unharmed, and neither Felinne (badly wounded) or Al (who'd run off in terror, thanks to a spell) were in any condition to charge out after them. So it was up to the animals! A summoned badger, Felinne's wolf, Tachi's weasel (who'd been healed up by Sierra's cat), and Tachi himself in the form of a small bear, rushed out and took them down.

One of the clerics was actually not killed -- sierra used 'ray of enfeeblement' on him until he was paralyzed. Along with the sleeping fighters, he was tied up as a prisoner. These prisoners were set under guard while the party explored the temple, having decided to leave the pyramid for the next day, when they were less worn out. There was nothing of interest, except for a pair of large gems to pry out of a statue's eyes.

During the night, since Sierra refused to just kill them, Tachi crippled the prisoners by breaking their wrists and ankles. Then, because he felt a little guilty (what would Sierra say?) he splinted their arms and legs, so they'd heal properly. They wouldn't heal in time to cause the party any trouble.

["You realize that's an evil act." "Ehhh? They're fanatics. They'll kill us if they get the chance, and Sierra won't let us *kill* them." "Still, it's torture!" "I'm not doing it to hurt them..." Sigh.]

Anyway, in the morning the party advanced into the pyramid itself. Diego was feeling better now, and was given 'point' to search for traps. He found no traps, but found many many secret doors... each clearly marked with a 20 foot statue. There were many dusty chambers, including one marked 'Treasure Room' and one marked 'This is the real tomb of Amon Rie'. Riiight.

So the party took the last non-aquatic path open to them, and jumped into a large fire, which teleported them to an evil maze of tiny rooms divided by twisty, mist-filled corridors which confused the mind and tended to turn people around. This was easily defeated with the use of rope, chalk, and holding hands, but the party wasn't sure if the tunnels were turning or twisting or what... still, they were able to map out a route that would let them get BACK to the start if they needed to.

Sierra considered performing a ritual to Find the Path out of the maze, but the low chance of success and the unknown chance of her death if she failed led her to consider that a last resort.

The party also ignored the many levers, skeletons with swords, and glowing rings they passed on the way, although Tachi (in bear form all this time) was really missing his humanoid hands to hoover it all up.

After much wandering, they came to a door that *wasn't* an archway full of mist. Was this the end of the maze?

After the game, I decided to check over at Legend's to see if I could catch the after-movie-gathering crowd, but it turned out the place was under quarantine thanks to the flu. I fled immediately, but I still felt a dizziness, sore throat, and headache, that couldn't possibly be a real flu infection since it takes more than 2 seconds for symptoms to develop.
