My God What Have I Done

terryclothWell, the short answer is, 'bought a new car'.
The noise in the Neon's wheel kept getting worse and worse -- until finally, on the way home from getting comics this morning, I didn't feel safe driving it on the freeway. Basically, the brakes weren't working evenly, so the car would wobble and wiggle whenever I so much as tapped them. Not a good thing.
So I decided to go to the Honda dealer and look at a Civic Hybrid, pretend to haggle, then go get a Saturn. Of course, anyone who knows me knows I didn't get past step 1. They had one 'on sale!' This specific car only! So... yeah.
Dealer weaseliness was in full effect -- they lied about the APR, added on extras after getting me to agree to things and sign stuff, pressured me into this and that, and spend a VERY LONG TIME haranguing me about giving them a perfect score on the phone survey I'll be getting, since anything less would mean they FAILED and Honda would do something horrible to them.
And of course, there were about a dozen things to sign after the 'last signature, I promise!'. Really. Hyperbole would be superfluous.
So anyway... yeah. Watch this car break within the month. }8|
I'm also supposed to register my new car with the manager, but (a) it doesn't have a liscence plate yet, and (b) the manager is never in her freaking office. Yes, this (along with the same rigmarole at work) is the real reason why I've been putting off getting a new car.
And when I got home, there was a note on the door (on everyone's door) saying that they were going to come in to inspect the apartment AGAIN -- the second time this MONTH. WTF?! I'm guessing that they didn't get around to actually doing it last time, and are too corporate to admit that now.
