I finally took care of some things last night that I'd been putting off for too long. One was checking my home e-mail -- one of the accounts had a *month* of backlog on it. 500 spam. The other was finally finding some time to play Gladius.
I've really been enjoying Gladius lately... even though I had to skip a bunch of battles because all my gladiators were at the level cap until I moved to the next region. I think I'll eventaully be able to go back and finish them, if I want.
Only being able to move two spaces at a time seems really restrictive, but it works out -- you can move longer distances gradually, and having the movement that slow makes it less trivial to set up backstab opportunities.
The only thing that really bugs me is the explicit rock/paper/scissors thing going with the heavy/light/medium units -- I prefer if they can make that sort of thing emergent. Having someone deal 148 damage on a hit to one unit and 20 against another of similar power level is a bit weird. Also, the Beast and Support units seem to be in some weight class or other, but which isn't clear (or stated). I think wolves are light, and bears might be medium.
