Today was the GM switching game at Tom's house, where Ed finally finished our little trek into Hell.
The courtyard the party had fought through turned out to be pretty much the entirety of the building -- there were only two other rooms. One had a cryptic pattern of colors and infernal script which, eventually, after much experimentation, was determined to be a pattern so that devils could teleport to the location.
The other had a shadow-wreathed devil who was angry with the party, but didn't want to fight them on his own, and was eventually convinced to divulge the tentacle-devil's location.
"He's in the mage tower."
"Where's the mage tower?"
"It's on that mural there."
"Er... I can't see the mural, you're radiating darkness."
But eventually they worked out what the tower looked like, and the pattern it would have on its teleport chamber floor, which helped them not at all, since unlike devils they were relying on standard teleportation, which didn't work on a description, no matter how exact.
Aeris tried anyway, since she was a sorcerer and had an essentially unlimited number of them to waste. She did get within sight of the tower, but on the way back bounced all over Hell at random from a series of targetting failures.
So they flew out into the desert a ways, and spent the night in a rope trick. Somewhat to their surprise, devil weren't combing the infernal desert searching for rope tricks, and they spent the night unmolested.
The next day they teleported to the tower, took care of some imps standing guard (by confusing them to keep them from running away, then... well, just killing them), then stone shaped a door in the side, since it didn't have any doors or windows.
Lemures spilled out, and were jellified with a sonic ball. Then the party rushed in... and was attacked!
While Tordak, Breya, Hiko, and Dae fought with the SAME damned horned devil they'd fought twice already, Aeris and Autumn were ambushed outside the tower by the tentacle devil they'd been hunting. The sorceress was slugged, but Autumn dispelled it, then the devil put a wall of force over the door, but Aeris went and fetched Tordak and teleported him out -- and Tordak landed a dimensional anchor on the beast.
And then it was basically a matter of time. The devil tried to surrender, but the party killed it instead, then cut off the (no longer creepily alive) heads to take back to raise.
Then the party plane-shifted back, and everything was sort of taken care of, yada yada yada.

Ed wanted to, you know, actually role-play the resolution of the adventure, but Erik shouted him down, so we just got XP and gold totals. Yay.
