Furry Day

I spent most of today hanging around with the local furry scene.

It started (after a morning of ToEE) with the movie gathering, which for once had a movie that a lot of people wanted to see - Kill Bill. Unfortunately, it was a movie I'd seen the night before... but it wasn't showing until 4pm, which meant people hung around for a long time -- and in particular, people who were fun to hang out with, like Teeka and Jurann and... er... BJ, and Oasis? No, Osiris. And a couple others whose names I don't remember.

So anyway, when the time came, I decided to go see the movie after all. It *had* been a very good movie. And I don't regret seeing it twice, although I fell asleep a little during the O-Ren backstory bit. And no, O-Ren is not in any way an Orren.

Afterwards, I headed over to Tasho's, kind of for the hell of it... a bunch of people were there, but they were mostly going to head over to Seattle to go to some Gay Bar, which didn't really appeal to me. They were going to stop at Legend's first, though, and one of them (Nightcat I think? I need to remember peoples' names) showed me the way. Which turned out to be a good thing, since without him I would have completely misinterpreted Tasho's directions and ended up in Kansas.

I ended up spending a long long time curled up on Legend's couch with three to five other people, while we trashed the place by scattering chips and nacho cheese everywhere, tickle-tortured each other, activated Odi's latent Claustrophobia, and eventually decided what movie to watch, and then watched it. Talking about what movie to watch took longer than the movie itself, of course... we eventually settled on T2-Xtreme, which didn't suck.

It made J... Jas... Jacob? Jason? No. Jordan! It made Jordan cry a bit in places, though, where they showed the kids getting toasted by the judgement day nukes. At the time I was sort of like... uh... what the hell? The scenes didn't get to me at all.

But later I realized that it's just a question of what pushes your buttons. There are things that make me cry that other people would be confused about... sappy songs, mostly. *Jewel* makes me cry, sometimes. Or the Indigo Girls. Or even... Five Iron Frenzy. Which is a happy bouncy band. o.O
