There was a lot of fighting, and a lot of dead drow, tonight as well, and the sorcerer almost learned a valuable lesson that many of us learned in Blackburrow (DON'T PULL TRAINS!) but the party sprung for a True Resurrection.

Erdann in bear form smashed through the arcane-locked door into an empty room. Not content with appearances, he began sniffing around... and easily resisted a sort of somewhat scary illusion that, in theory, could have killed him. He pinpointed the mage with his nose, then faerie fired him, and after eating an enervation and a cone of cold, badly mauled the drow, who teleported away.

So, the next door. This one also had a drow inside, who also tried to hide and pretend not to be there, but with even less success as by this time the mist had been dispelled and the party saw invisible. This drow was captured, and interrogated, briefly... he offered to take *one* of the party to speak with his master and maybe come to an arrangement, but instead they killed him. Before he could teleport away.

The next door also had a drow, but this one couldn't turn invisible or teleport. He enervated Erdann again, then cast a stinking cloud, then failed his save against the cloud, and was horribly murdered. There was a fourth door, but nothing behind it.

So, after finding more annoying mist on the next level down, and failing to dispel it, the party moved to the bottom level and attacked the archmage of the school. A silence forced the archmage into a corner, and his apprentice into the open tower area. The archmage spat fire and lightning and disintegration, and his apprentice threw off some confusion, but then the apprentice was mauled by the bear (Erdann) and the arhcmage was turned into a slug by May, and flew away out of sight (by blinking through walls), never to be seen again.

Abbey very, very nearly killed Conner by mistake, under the influence of the confusion spell, but Erdann saved his life.

The party loaded their bag of holding with everything valuable they could find in the mage academy, including the spellbooks of many of the defeated mages, then teleported back to Baldur's Gate again to shop and recover.

When they came back, a few days later, a teleport mishap dropped them into the middle of the Forbiddance spell in the temple of House Morcane, where Abbey immediately killed a sleeping drow and the others were thrown into combat against her zombie guards. As they were looting, another drow attacked... this one tried to Slay Abbey as she tumbled past, but failed, and was taken down by a fireball. The zombies, as always, were little threat, although their acid blood annoyed Erdann's wolf.

The party cautiously explored the hall outside those rooms, and wound their way outwards to a Temple to Kiransilee, where they were attacked by some vampires. The vampires were quickly dispatched, and changed into gaseous form and fled. The party followed them... waking four zombies, two of whom ran to wake the leaders of the level while the others engaged.

One vampire fled back the way it'd come, and was put in a force dome. Another went down a staircase, and when May tried to follow it he triggered a web trap, sticking the whole party fast while the vampires got away.

But not for long. A flaming sphere cleared out the web on the ladder, and May, Conner, and Abbey followed it down, quickly finding the vampire again in a large, corpse-filled temple of Lolth. At one end was an altar, which Conner threw holy water at, awakening and angry spectre. After dispatching it, the three passed through a collapsed gate, triggering a glyph that summoned a large spidery demon, which failed to poison May and Conner.

They finally found the vampire hovering over an altar. May approached, and told Conner to throw holy water on this altar as well... but before he could, a ghostly banshee appeared and wailed, killing May instantly. Conner grabbed his body, and he and Abbey fled the temple level.

Meanwhile, Erdann had gone around exploring on his own, and ran into another pair of vampires. He handily dispatched the both of them (with the help of his wolf) and was in the middle of burning their coffins when Conner and Abbey returned bearing May's corpse.

They freed a drow prisoner, who promised to aid them, then immediately ran out of the forbiddance and teleported back to Baldur's Gate. Where they tied up the drow they'd rescued, just in case.
