Well, there was a movie gathering of sorts today. At first I thought there wasn't going to be, because no one was at the usual tables and no one I recognized was around at all, but it turned out this group of veeerry quiet people hunched over a table staring around suspiciously *were* the furries, after all. I didn't discover that until people I recognized started showing up.
I ended up stuck next to Legend, and apparently I was today's ritual sacrifice to him, as everyone else discussed, you know, stuff, while I was forced to sit and listen to him go on and on and on in 'did you know' mode. He spoke really slowly, but paced things so that you *still* couldn't get a word in edgewise, and whenever I made as if to get up and talk to someone else he'd ask me something. It got to the point where I was staring at my arm and wondering if gnawing it off would allow me to escape.
I ended up fleeing on the pretense of getting icecream with him still talking at my back... of course, when I got back I ended up talking with him more, before one of the cliques got up and left, leaving Jurann all by himself at one of the tables. Jurann works well as Legend repellant.
Of course, about thirty seconds later, the other two cliques peeled off to god knows where. It ended up being me, Jurann, and Oscar going to the movie, out of maybe thirty people at the gather.
We saw Medallion, which was... disappointing. The beginning was neat, with the ninjas and all, but it went way downhill when Jacky got superpowers. Giving Jackie Chan superpowers has to be the worst idea ever -- it goes against everything he stands for.
Also, I fell asleep during it, and parts of it made me cringe. Sigh.
