Aug. 10th, 2003 11:43 pm-- I got to Tarka's house around two (according to mapquest, I should have been there at one, but I'd added another hour to my ETA based on distrust of mapquest), and was greeted by Tarka... and Oshkosh... and Cobalt Blue. No, I didn't know the last two. Later on Kay came by. I didn't know him either.
But it was okay -- we spent the day lying around the house, and plotting out a puppet show, and animating Marshmallows of Doom, and lying around the house, and I think somewhere in there we got dinner. Tarka also gave me a tour and stuff, and, yeah. Somehow, it was eventually 2am.
Since I'd decided to stay the whole weekend, and Cobalt was also crashing (because he didn't feel up to driving home), I slept in Tarka's room. That was probably a mistake, at least from the 'getting sleep' angle. Tarka's an insomniac who wouldn't stop talking until 3am, and then he kept rolling over and stealing all the sheets.
Everyone but Oshkosh woke up by 6am. No one was actually out of bed before 8am. Ech. -.-
But, anyway, eventually there were pancakes, which I thought tasted like Costco Bulk Brand, and orange juice likewise, and a huge vat of maple syrup which left nothing to the imagination.
Then we -- Cobalt and Tarka and I -- played some video games, while I *tried* to read Tarka's 'Fusion' comics. I kept getting roped into the video games, and only managed the first three. Damnit! I'll have to see if Wonderworld has them in their stacks of boxes somewhere.
Eventually, Oshkosh woke up just about in time to see Tarka and I start playing World Tree. I had an adventure made up specifically for Chahala (Tarka's World Tree character -- an orren lass of loose morals and looser ethics, or possibly vice versa) which more or less worked, but with more combat than I'd intended (not having, you know, put any combat in it). I'll post a summary separately.
After that, Cobalt finally left, his short visit having somehow stretched to more than 24 hours. Oshkosh and Tarka and I had dinner, and then it was time to go home, assuming I wanted to get back at a reasonable hour.
