-.- . o O ( zzzzz )
Jun. 17th, 2003 12:13 pmI don't feel like working today. But it has to get done sometime... I guess...
Grit-teethed e-mail with my players about rules-lawyering ate up time yesterday. E-mail is such an antiproductivity tool. LJ doesn't help either.
This weekend I have to take the car in to get fixed, again, and then Sunday's a(nother) D+D game we've been trying to make characters for, but I'm not sure we decided who's going to GM. Tom's been whining about how his character can't be both a wizard and a cleric without multiclassing. Apparently, he found a prestige class that lets you do both, because it's a sorcerer variant so you get a limited number of spells, and it adds the provision that you can't take any spells that hurt anyone. With that as the precedent he's trying to argue that he should be able to take a wizard that also learns cleric spells. No one's buying it, but he won't fricking drop the subject -- every day it's 'Well, I can be this, but then blah, so that's unacceptable'.
No, Tom isn't a twink. He's just normally a GM who likes to make a lot of shit up. He'd allow those characters in his campaign, so why can't he play them? Erik and I are both rules lawyers and don't really want to change things, especially not to make a character stronger because you don't like its weakness. If there was actually a GM for this game then it'd be his call, but since there isn't...
Um... where was I? Oh, right. The next weekend after that, my family'll be in town. And the workdays between now and then are the last push to make bug goals by checkpoint. So, I should be busy for about two weeks solid.
Instead, I'm lazing around and just feeling generally inactive. I blame MSG.
