Heat Death
Jun. 8th, 2003 12:00 amIt wasn't really that hot today.
The pool is closed, though. In my apartment building. Locked, and with a sign saying it'll never be open again because it needs a permit and they're too cheap to get one.
To better do my civic duty, I wandered around 'Wilburton Hill', which is the neighborhood I get pestery civic-type mail for, even though I don't live in it, at least not according to the dotted line. Apparently, there's a huge ass park in there. And a drastic lack of sidewalks.
They asked us to vote on what needs work more. Most of the options were 'build sidewalks for street X', but since apparently they want to build bionic super-sidewalks that cost $1500 per foot, I voted for the school sports equipment and the covered picnic area instead. Although for $130,000 it'd better be a pretty impressive picnic area.
Anyway, walking through the park involved getting sunned on a lot, so I was even hotter afterwards. It's kind of interesting, how I can be too hot indoors, go outside and get even hotter, then go back inside and get even HOTTER. One has to be hotter than the other, right?
So I've been drinking vast quantities of icky yellow water, although after filtering it I can pretend it isn't icky if it's sufficiently chilled. And sufficiently hot out.
