Mandatory Fun

terryclothWe had a morale event today at work. We were all bussed downtown for a 'mystery and scavenger hunt', which meant hunting across the city for answers to questions while also (theoretically) looking for items on the scavenger list.
Our team came in 5th out of 8, mostly because we wasted a lot of time at the beginning in the International District trying to actually do everything together. One of the PGMs joined the team and spend 45 minutes talking to people in Chinese to impress us. Er, that is, to get the answers we were looking for. In theory.
The last part of the contest was a storytelling competition, which we actually won, possibly at least in part because of an unholy alliance Survivor style. Our skit was... well, ambitious. It didn't go off as well as we'd hoped, but then neither did many other groups'.
Lunch was served, and it was kind of ick, although the fried breaded artichoke hearts were pretty good dipped in mayonaise.
We were denied the elaborate awards ceremony because we were running late and the bus refused to wait for us. Argh! I hate missing the very end of something I don't ever want to do again. }:P
