...or at least, I can't kill him.

That's fine in the first battle where you meet him, since you just have to run past him (the mission text even says to 'evade' him), but in the next fight (where you're supposed to 'isolate' him) the victory condition is to take him out. And that's just not possible.

I mean, I killed every other enemy on the map (except for the gates that kept regenerating), and all Lu Bu's guards and troops, and went after him with 3 allied generals, and he still kicked my ass -- one sequence and I was down to a sliver of health, and while I was running off to heal he killed ALL THREE of my allies, leaving only Cao Cao. Then I came back, and he skewered me on his spear, filleted me, then scraped me off into a very dead heap.

Maybe you're just supposed to 'evade' that entire mission and go on with the campaign. Er, this is in Dynasty Warrior 4.

I had a very uneasy sleep last night, caused by constantly having to get up to use the bathroom. The last such episode ended at 7:30 AM, so I just decided to stay up and take a shower. I ended up with about 2 hours before having to leave for work, so I played some Xenosaga.

[Three mechs appear]
"Oh no! Mechs! They'll kill us!"
"I can weaken them using the Hilbert effect to scramble their sensors, even though the Hilbert effect is intended for materializing gnosis, and mechs aren't really strong because of their sensors in the first place."
[uses Hilbert effect, mechs are weakened]

That took Xenosaga 15 minutes to play through in a cutscene.

"Hi, we're all sexist assholes!"
"That's okay, I have no shame! I'm not only the head scientist of the entire Federation, but also a waitress!"
"I'm slightly less sexist because I'm secretly a robot, so I'll help you wash the dishes."
"Thanks! Oh no, the sinister military guy is mysteriously absent! I'd better go take him some curry."

That took more like 20 minutes. 20 very painful minutes.

At least THOSE cutscenes were plot points. There were three or four others that served no purpose whatsoever.

Then I got to work and (prompted by a post to the AC2 folder) checked out the newest round of nerfs scheduled for June... they're nerfing all the *base* classes, which means they're nerfing *everybody*. They're also screwing with monster aggro, and it sounds like they're removing distance as a factor, so good buy tactics and hello lifestone.

I'd probably be really angry if I hadn't just about decided to give up on it anyway -- the multiplayer aspect never really adds anything for me, so I don't enjoy playing MMORPGs for much longer than I'd play a normal single player RPG.
