Today was the last session of Chris' scifi Shadake game, since Chris et al are going home for summer break. We're planning to play a BESM game over the summer, reluctantly run by Muhdok -- originally I was going to run something, but I'm having enough trouble preparing for one game a week, there's no way I could run two. Snowwy doesn't feel up to running a game, and Lazar is planning to run the game starting in the fall when Chris etc. come back and doesn't want to burn himself out.
Anyway, since this was the last session, there was a climactic battle. And an epilogue. I spent most of the session dead, which gave me powers beyond my own comprehension.
So there we were, with Sky and Sea together at last, and we warp into the last system together and... gaah! There was the huge-ass federation flagship we'd mostly destroyed earlier! Apparently mostly destroyed wasn't the same as all destroyed. They opened a hangar door and told us to come on board.
Well, with their grav-drives being so much more powerful than ours we didn't really have much of a choice, and besides, I kind of wanted to board the ship and just kill everyone anyway. So in we went. A bunch of creepy looking guys with power-lines running to their individual muscles came out and looked menacing, so I trained the stolen scout ship's cluster missiles on them.
Blue said not to fire until we knew what they wanted, so I went out and asked what they wanted. They wanted Sea and Sky, of course. I told them we couldn't give them up, literally, since they were way more powerful than us and hated the federation because the feds tortured them. They denied torturing them. I didn't believe them since I'd SEEN THEM DOING IT.
So, since we knew what they wanted now, we fired the missiles. It didn't do much good -- ship to ship missiles fired at infantry, and they weren't even scratched! The scout ship was pretty trashed by all the missiles exploding so close, so I grabbed Trent, after he set the grav drive to cascade (which didn't work, the big ship just squished it), and fled back to Blue. One of the silly cable-guys tried to latch onto me and ended up glommed onto my psi shield... so I left it behind and scooted in through the hatch Blue opened for me.
Oh, no, wait, it was for Sea, who decided to blow up the enemies himself. His powers didn't work at all, and the enemies swarmed inside and grabbed him. I tried to slash through the cables, figuring they were some sorta weak spot, and was instantly killed. Or something. I ended up floating outside my body, which looked pretty dead.
So of course I tried biting the cables again, and this time I managed to rip off a piece of glowy stuff, which tasted pretty neat, and made me a lot more powerful... not powerful enough to risk biting the cable guys again, though, since they were MORE more powerful and biting the one time almost got me sucked in and absorbed.
There was some fighting on the physical plane, and Sky got snatched as well. One of the cable guys got killed, and another started growing really, really big after Kev'ry destroyed its power control (I found out later). I tried to eat the blue guy who seemed to be the leader, but he put me in a box. I broke out, but it was too late -- he had Sky and Sea and powered up to ridiculous levels!
Drusilla and Pixel managed to distract him long enough for Sky and Sea to come to their senses momentarily, and they transferred their powers to the rest of us, making us all strong enough to actually fight the enemy.
I tried to bite the blue guy, but I still wasn't strong enough, so I decided -- with the new power Sea and Sky gave me -- to eat the souls of everyone on the ship that I could. Well, I'm guessing they were souls -- they might have just been psi-power nanites. People died when they got eaten, though, so they might have been souls.
I didn't get anyone important, but I got the three hundred regular crewmen scattered about the leviathan. Kind of a disappointment -- I was expecting at least ten thousand. I tried to make do and rip up the blue guy, but... well, he started changing colors, and it didn't look like anything I was doing was having any effect. I tried to kill the last cable-guy too (the others of Blue's crew had taken out all but one while I was messing around with soul eating) but I'm not sure if that had any effect except getting me high... for a while I was sure I knew everything in the universe, although I can't remember what specifically I was supposed to have known...
So I was out of it for the rest of the fight, but I snapped back to myself in time to flee along with Blue and everyone as Sea and Sky decided to destroy the universe. Luckily, they put it back together again afterwards, minus one evil blue guy. And themselves.
Once my body was brought back to life in the healing tanks, I got sucked back into it, so I'm alive again.
Blue hacked the big now-empty ship so it thought I was its rightful Admiral, and now we're planning to go take over the pirates and unite them and milk the Federation for all it's worth! Dru's staying on as head tinkerer, Isaiah's going to join the collective inside the black hole, Kevry's working on some 'modifications' to my ship -- she says she can reduce redundancy, whatever that means... it kinda looks like she's cutting through the main structural members for the back half of the ship, though. Who knows what Trent and Ran'll be up to...
All the soul eating I did while dead paid off, and I can crush small ships with my psi now. Should come in handy when I face off against Black Cat to take back my pirate gang...
[epilogue: Blue and Bric-a-Brac united many pirates and rebels, and stole most of the Federation Navy piecemeal, but Bric's total lack of ambition beyond theft and destruction kept them from actually building a serious power base, and they were eventually hunted down and destroyed. Peace returned to the Federation. Everyone else lived happily ever after.]
