Saturday we played a shortish game of Pathfinder with a couple of not-really-fights.

It started with a flood... )

It was a little early, but we cut it there.

Yesterday we played a little Pathfinder, finishing up the battle and discovering why Teleport is a better 'run away' spell than Dimension Door.

At least when you're in a fort with a ludicrously gigantic courtyard. )

It was a reeeeeally short session, about two and a half hours. x.x

Yesterday we played some Pathfinder, continuing on to invade the keep of the fortress overrun by ogres.

Knock knock... )

We stopped there since a couple people had to leave early, and the fight was obviously not going to end soon.

Saturday we played some Pathfinder, planning and then starting on a big assault.

With some questionable tactics. )

We stopped there, figuring that the assault on the inner keep would have to wait since a bunch of people had to leave early.

Yesterday we played some Pathfinder, continuing to explore the cabin in the woods.

And then we burned it down. )

Me: "I guess we'll have to fight 'Mammy' again at the fort, since she must have teleported back there."
GM: "Who says she teleported back to the fort?"
Me: "I was sure we'd find her in the basement, but she wasn't there. Unless we were stupid and she was just hiding out in the barn."
GM: "You were stupid and she was hiding out in the barn."

Damn it!

Yesterday we played some more Pathfinder, continuing our adventures around the small village up by the lake.

We were trying to rest... )

And we stopped there, because it was getting late in the day to start another combat.

Yesterday we played some more Pathfinder, continuing our search for the true leader of the mysterious cult.

But first... )

Yesterday we played some pathfinder. I got to play the sorcerer since his player was out and my character was turned to stone... not that it mattered much since I didn't want to also get the sorcerer turned to stone and his fort save was pathetic. Fortunately, I wasn't out for the whole session.

At the top of the clocktower... )

...and then we ended the session a bit early since a couple people had to leave.

Yesterday we played Pathfinder again, dealing with the aftermath of murdering a city council member and his (murder cultist) employees.

Do Not Pass Go )

I've rolled natural 1s on *so many* saving throws this campaign. If it's a standard critter I had to roll a 4 to save against the gaze attack.

But the guard did say that they'd come get me if I didn't report in to my parole officer, so maybe they'll find the statue?

Yesterday we had a session of the Pathfinder game, continuing investigations in Marimar. I keep wanting to call it Madripoor.

So, this is what passes for stealth... )

...now it was 7:30 and the game had run very late. But at least we finished the fight!

Today we had a kind of short session of the Pathfinder game. Shawn showed up late and had to leave early (with his girls), and so did Colin. And we spent a lot of the time shopping (actually, mostly not shopping per-se, but similar faffing about in town).

Shopping! )

Saturday was another Pathfinder game, where we finally finished the mansion. It was only three more rooms like Tom said (well, he'd said two but one of them was optional), but it still ended up taking the whole session.

so many ghouls... )

Actually very little drama this time, and everyone mostly worked together. Yay! n.n

We played some more Pathfinder this time, STILL not finishing the haunted house much to Tom's annoyance (people got hungry).

So, after Elsie fell through the floor... )

Shawn: "We'd better stop here."
Tom: "But there's only two rooms left!"
Me: "And that door I can see on the map. And the other *half* of the map."
Tom: "Well.."

Earlier today we had another session of the Pathfinder game, continuing the Halloween adventure that Tom had somehow thought we were going to complete all in one session.

We didn't finish it today, either.

So... )

...and then we stopped, because it was getting late and people were getting antsy. Even if it wasn't an especially good stopping place.

"Six omens, and we still haven't triggered the haunt!"

Last Saturday we had another session of Pathfinder off-schedule, since it worked better with some peoples' schedules and was supposed to be all spooky.

So we continued the investigation... )

Tom said afterwards that he'd planned to do the farm investigation during the session too, but half the people were already leaving for work or Halloween parties by the time we finished the asylum, so... guess not.

Boss Fight

So, Saturday we *finally* had another session of Pathfinder. The previous week was cancelled because too many people had to be absent. This week... three people were missing for most of the session, but we had enough because the group is way too big.

Especially for fights in cramped hallways... )

Running away in D+D is always really tricky. I'm sure I've seen a couple of groups manage it, but most of the time it just kind of fails like it did this time.

We played some more Pathfinder today. This time, we actually ran into some enemies that *attacked us first* and in two out of three cases, this let us fight back without half the party agonizing over whether we were doing the right thing.

So... the bugbear was out of the harem... )

And cue the cliffhanger.

Yesterday we played some more Pathfinder, working through the goblin fortress.

Queue more arguing... )

I found the game amusing. So did many of the other players, by the end. Phoof's player (Cassandra) was not so amused, since we kept ruining her attempts at negotiation, and various other people got pretty pissed at various times during the session. I don't *think* any of it was unrecoverable, but I don't know most of the people playing as well as I'd need to to be sure of that. :/

It is clear that the large, unwieldy party is large and unwieldy.

Yesterday we had another session of Pathfinder, where the GM told us where we should 'obviously' go and we went there.

After a week spent shopping... )

And we stopped there, because it was six and several of the players had to go to work. We'll pick up with the mini-boss fight next session, probably.
