Remember the boil I needed to have lanced last week by a pack of medical ferrets?

Well, it's been more than a week and it still isn't completely healed, although there are signs that it's healing. And I'm glad I had them work on it -- before I went it, it *hurt* whenever I sat down or stood up or kept perfectly still lying on my bed. Afterwards, it sometimes itched a little when I put on a new band-aid (or a LOT when I was using the larger bandages; I think I might be slightly allergic to latex after all) but for most of the day I could forget it was there.

But it was there, and I've had to change the bandaid multiple times a day to slow down the process where oozing blood and pus and some weird, clear yellowish stuff that I think is just plasma soak into my underwear and ruin them.

In the mornings, I'd press down on the still-slightly-swollen area around the ex-boil to try to press out as much of the extra fluid as possible in the shower, as opposed to having it later leak out into the bandage. Sometimes, I'd get these little white seed-shaped bits popping out in clusters -- like when you squeeze a pimple that was ready to be squeezed, and the ick inside pops out all at once. Only, like, five or six of them at a time, because the boil was basically a giant cluster of pimples combining their powers like voltron.

I've had nightmares about this sort of thing -- I'd squeeze a pimple, and white ooze would start coming out and out and out and NEVER STOP, and I couldn't stop squeezing it because getting that stuff out of my body is always an imperative once you see it start coming...

Well, this morning, that basically happened in real life. By the time the GIGANTIC oozy bits stopped squeezing out of the slowly healing incision, there was about a cubic centimeter of them sitting in my hand(I was doing it standing up, and it was too much stuff to adhere to my skin until I wiped it off, like it normally would.

The boil was bleeding, with actual ordinary blood, not for the first time but for the first time with that much volume. And most of the 'swelling' around it was gone.

Maybe I've finally turned the corner on this. c.c

Oh, and it still didn't and doesn't hurt. That was probably the creepiest part.
