terryclothToday the weather was nicer, so I went outside. Just down to Lake Sammamish park, for a little walk along the beach. I paid attention to the water and reflections in it and decided that calling any particular rendition of water 'unrealistic' is probably unrealistic, considering how much its appearance changes with the wind...
I also did the laundry. The machines in the apartment building don't like me -- no one else seems to have any problem with them, but they keep eating my quarters and jamming no matter how fast or slow or soft or hard I put the slide in. Two of the washing machines just ate my quarters... and when I came to pick up my clothes from the ones that worked, I saw that other people had clothes washing in them!
I was determined not to let the dryer get the best of me, and I whacked and shook it until I injured my hands. And that seemed to work. Ow ow ow ow. It didn't actually dry my clothes, though, but that's normal. Since I lived here I've never actually gotten my clothes dryed by the dryer.
Also played lots of Space Empires IV, and with the previously noted remedies the computer seems to be holding its own.
I also wanted to go to the mall to get some last-minute christmas presents, but I coudln't get within ten blocks before getting stuck in the massive traffic jam. I ended up going to Toys-R-Us and buying some little chachkas that'll have to do.
