We had a 15-year celebration today... yet another in the long line of X-year celebrations this summer. It's not unusual that these things happen in the summer -- the standard college graduate would be starting work around now, after all -- but it's kind of weird that the big hiring push seems to come every five years. We've been on another one recently.

This one was for M, a tester that I knew about from two things -- first, the other testers I used to eat lunch with (they stopped eating at the same place and/or time, and/or together) would always insult her behind her back and complain that she was making them look bad. Second, I went to see her bellydance at a mall during one of the wierd little festival things they have sometimes.

She didn't bellydance at the meeting, and the chainmail she had on turned out to be a loose-knit grey sweater. Man, it looked like chainmail from a distance, though. A distance of five feet or further.

I almost missed the party, because they kept moving it -- it went through about ten different locations, the last two of which were sent in e-mail after the nominal starting time, so I didn't get them until afterwards. They also left a trail of signs to follow, though.

Leaving the party was almost as hard as finding it -- the fire alarm in the building kept going off every time I tried, so I'd go back to the party (in an adjacent building) for a bit, then come out and BRRRING BRRRING BRRRING. Grrrg.

If it goes off again I'm just going home.
