terryclothThe aftermath of the blueberry picking was supposed to be me getting some pie, since that's really all you can do with four pounds of blueberries. Of course, the pie didn't happen the same day, because we got distracted with dinner and Guitar Hero instead.
Capsule review: the music is good, but the specialized controller is really annoying, and it's missing the surreal visuals that are the mainstay of most rhythym games. Also, when you get to the guitar solos it's like sight-reading random sequences of notes, since you have no idea what it's trying to play. As far as I can tell, the 'star power' meter is there just to make it possible to complete the songs, by letting you glide past the solos without having to actually hit (m)any notes.
So, since Alex works for the same company as me, he was supposed to bring me half a pie at some point. At some point turned out to be yesterday, which happened to be the same day I'd decided to walk to work. Meaning that I needed him to come over to my building and drop it off.
He doesn't work the same shift as I do, which I didn't know, and he didn't know where my buildig was, and he works in a lab where he can't get voice mail... basically, we played phone tag all day until I was just about to leave and tried sending him e-mail. E-mail he could get right away. He stopped by and dropped it off on the way to his dinner break, only 20 minutes or so after I normally would have started heading home.
The pie was pretty good... a little tart, though -- I think we might have picked too many unripe berries. I didn't eat *all* of it last night, of course. Just, you know, 90% of it. Well, 45% of it, since I only had half of one to start with.
