Crossover Hell
Jun. 27th, 2006 10:00 amSo, Lex did actually do a session of his d20 future (sort of) game last night, although it didn't get started until about 8pm, because we were waiting for some of the players to wake up.
When the first combat had us fighting 686 giant scorpions, I decided that it was time to be silly.
Chit woke up in the wreckage of the ship, with shrapnel in his shoulder, and noticed the signs of nearby gunfire. Sneaking up to take a look, he saw a batallion of alliance troops taking on a couple dozen giant insect-people, and decided that there was no side of that battle he wanted to win, so he went to get his stuff from the locker where his tracking chip told him it was located, got as much food and water as he could carry from the ruins of the galley, and started creeping around to try to find some sign of the other slaves he'd been frozen with.
He didn't find them, but he did find a teleporter set to coordinates on the far side of the planet. He told the computer to erase the coordinates after he teleported, and went through.
Unfortunately, the town on the far side was deserted, except for the other slaves. He tripped over one, who was sitting there invisible, and panicked, running into the nearest building to hide, only to find it full of webs. Obviously, the only thing to do with webs was to set them on fire with a few plasma bolts...
Unfortunately, that made the 686 giant scorpion/spiders angry, and they came out to menace him. He ran to hide behind one of the other slaves, all of which had taken out their weapons and were firing at the scorpions. "You're going to fight them? Are you insane?"
One of the other slaves (Riku, the one wielding a keyblade) had a powered grappling hook, and dragged himself and the other panther up onto a building so that they could fire down at the insects, who were now swarming over the invisible guy Chit had tripped over. Chit took a bunch of his explosives, rolled them up into a ball too heavy to throw, set the timer for six seconds, ran into the middle of the insect swarm, then yelled for Riku to drag him out...
Fortunately, she heard him, and complied. Unfortunately, he hadn't been paying attention to just how much explosives he was setting off, and the whole town was levelled. Luckily, the roof that most of the party had been taking cover on blocked most of the shockwave, and left them lying slightly charred in a large crater.
The invisible monk was okay, because he made his reflex save against the 4000d6 fireball and had evasion.
Deciding he needed more explosives, Chit took out the little card he'd found with his equipment and used it to call his ship -- the card basically unfolded into his ancient second-hand shuttle. It turned out he was still basically out of ammo, but everyone was able to pile into the ship, and he had it tell the jumpgate to set a random destination, and they bugged out of the system.
They arrived at an uncharted planet, but one with signs of civilization. The technomage (who was secretly an alliance spy, but none of them knew that because he kept his robes hidden in his luggage, and he had the brand of an ex-slave to help his cover) recognized it as 20th century earth, and after Chit tried to land them in Central Park (where they were almost destroyed by the powerpuff girls), took over control of the computer and had them land in a deserted field in Kansas.
They had some fun scaring courage the cowardly dog, and were treated to a nice round of tea, but there was nothing in Kansas for them, so another random destination (on the planet, not by jumping -- a civilized uncharted world was a fine place to hide from the alliance) brought them to Springfield, where (again) the technomage refused to let Chit land in the power plant's cooling tower, and instead had them land in a forest on the boundary between Springfield and Shelbyville.
This time, they went out to greet the natives using 'disguise units' the technomage had on him. next session
Yes, I'm glossing over the parts that aren't about me. Nyaaaa.
