The normal holiday party at work that I skipped was skipped entirely this year. I didn't notice until just recently, when they rescheduled it to last night. I hadn't planned on going anyway, but I noticed that it was at Redmond Town Center, where there was also an EBX, and I needed to pick up a copy of Kingdom Hearts II anyway...

So I went. Of course, I wasn't in proper attire after work, so I stopped at the Macy's across the street to at least get a button down shirt to wear over the stained Usagi Yojimbo T I was in. All the men's shirts in Macy's were on sale... and very, very ugly. Oh my god. O.O There wasn't a single shirt there that I thought would look good on any living creature (including giant squid or hamsters) so I decided I'd find the absolute most hideously awful and loud shirt and buy that. Not the ugliest, just the brightest.

And there it was, like a sign from god -- a rainbow plaid monstrosity, the last of its ilk, sitting on the rack of loud plaids, but overshadowing all others with its awesome radiance. Would it be in my size? Breathlessly, I checked the tag...

Blah, it was size M. But one of the almost-as-loud red and green plaid shirts was my size, so I got that. It's pretty hideous, but at least it isn't lavender bamboo stalks on royal purple or something, like most of the shirts they had -- it makes me look tacky, and not, you know, like somebody's grandmother.

Anyway, the party itself was as lame as I always imagined them to be. I knew a lot of the people there... from work... so we had things to talk about... namely work. Yay! They had a catered buffet, and an open bar (but I had to drive home so I skipped it), and some blackjack tables at which I lost all $30,000 in fake money by the time 'The Pink Panther' was starting at the movie theater in the mall.

You know, the rules were set up in our favor -- the house paid on push -- but everyone was losing anyway. Actual Vegas gambling where they *try* to make money must really suck.

The movie was kind of lame, but funny nonetheless. Well, a little the less, but still quite funny.

And this morning was [REDACTED].
