terryclothStarted playing Soulcalibur III, which I picked up Sunday while at the mall thingie. It's definately a good entry in the series, although they changed all the moves I actually knew how to do for Nightmare. Well, not *all* of them, just the good ones. You can still do them -- or at least, the computer can -- but not using the same commands. Argh.
Anyway, it's neat -- it's got different weapons, it's got multiple story modes... they combined Arcade mode with the old story mode from the last one, and there's a weird RTS-like mode that you can only use custom characters in. They have custom characters, with a character creation system a lot like City of Heroes visually, although you have to buy access to most of the outfit pieces before you can use them. You don't really get to edit the characters' powers, but you can choose a class, a 'discipline', and of course a weapon.
And man, I suck at it. }:P Well, I can eventually get through the quasi-arcade mode and the RTS battles by the time-tested 'trying over and over' method, at least...
When a fighting game can keep me up until late at night, you know it's good.
