Belated Turkey Day

"At least I only ruined one dish." That was Alex's final appraisal of thanksgiving dinner.
And lo, the stuffing was indeed burned beyond recognition... it was still edible, but it was *crunchy*.
The pies looked really weird, but they tasted okay. And the turkey was actually really good, despite some panic about it suddenly being the right temperature way ahead of schedule.
No one drank any of the wine or pop Anna'd had me bring -- I brought diet pop and regular pop, but not *caffeine free* pop, and apparently pregnant women can't drink caffeine now. Somehow, despite no longer being pregnant (the baby was right there for everyone to see), this was the explanation Anna's friend gave for not drinking pop. (yeah, yeah, breastfeeding... whatever)
Anyway, we had a lot of time to play with their babies, because that's really all you can do while babies are present. They will not be ignored! After they left, and Stevie was put to bed, we talked about stuff for a couple hours. Alex has a full time job now (this temp position was really temp-to-hire after all, unlike the last couple he's had), modern computers all suck, cable internet is 'really good!' but they're not getting VOIP because it goes down all the time... maybe I don't want broadband yet. I hate the internet going down, it really irks me.
Mikey, the last survivor of the pets I grew up with, is going to be put to sleep because in addition to being blind and deaf (which he has been for years) he's also now senile and incontinent. He just lies there quivering... if you pet him or something he'll look around confused and then go back to shivering. Sigh.
Anyway, their new house is nice, and a lot more convenient to get to than Magnolia (it's in or near the U-District). I think it still has fleas, though.
