terryclothWell, I solo'd flamekin up until I got the Fortuneteller mission (first time ever on any character, and now I know why -- the contact that gives it gives three boring 'kill 10 hellions in perez park' missions first), and was then immediately invited to a team. They did not want to do the mission. They did some of my *other* missions, and some of the higher-level controller's missions... it was a surprisingly good team. I wouldn't have guessed that mind control + fire control + energy blast would have worked at all.
The mind controller had storm as a secondary, but completely ignored it -- she had gale (never used, because she also had telekinesis which is better in every possible way) and eventually took steamy mist, which she never used. If I was only going to take one power out of /storm, steamy mist would not be it.
Then we added a Healer (as in, empathy defender who'd taken only heals) and things went to hell. As it turned out, that was because she kept going AFK in the middle of battle, and not because of her healerness -- kicking her (once we figured it out) and adding a different healer (almost the same build) helped considerably. We also added a scrapper and a peacebringer, and barely finished the mission with 5 minutes left on the clock. Three team wipes'll do that.
Aanyway, other than city of heroes, let's see. At work we had a congratulation lunch for M who's worked there for 15 years now, at Shamiana. My lead does not like Shamiana, because he was in the know about the scam they pulled for years, overcharging for catering because they knew people who worked there. We went for the lunch buffet, which I've always liked, and it was... not as good as the last time I had it. There was no chutney anymore, and the naan was *crunchy*. It was still pretty good, if a bit expensive... $15 per person for a buffet?
And I ordered a bunch of magic card singles from a random online retailer. Only the cheap ones, but that includes neko te, savra, and a bunch of commons and uncommons. It does NOT include Sunforger or Flame Fusillade, to my surprise. They should be coming ANY DAY NOW. Grr.
