Saw the doom movie Sunday night. It was okay, although it wasn't much of a doom movie, not having anything to do with demons or hell (despite using the words 'demon' and 'hell' a lot) and instead having a plot straight out of Resident Evil: the Movie, complete with the hero being turned into a super-human savior by the same virus that turned everyone else into zombies. Although in Doom they claimed that *most* people would be turned into superhumans and only a few (those with psychotic tendencies) into zombies, despite the percentage of zombification being rather high.
I think whoever wrote it must not have played Doom recently, because it's really hard to confuse 'teleporting into hell and bringing back fireball-flinging demons' with 'genetic engineers accidentally create zombies who bite people on the neck to infect them'.
Anyway, Doominess or the lack thereof aside, it wasn't a bad movie, just a mediocre and kind of boring one.
morning download progress:
#######......... 690mb/1.6G @ 3.0k/sec; 106:91:23 remaining. v.v
[underneath the window telling me the updater crashed again; I've had to restart it soooo many times]
I asked Murdock to burn me a copy of the file... otherwise I don't think I'm going to have it by next Monday, when it's supposed to go live.
