Finished off the armor quests last night. Oberre Warrain was a pain in the butt -- he was a triggered spawn, so while I was sneaking around tracking for him he appeared out of nowhere and forced me to flee for my life... then forced me to beg to be let in the group that was going to go take him on, who refused.

But, I found one of Wharson's friends who duo'd with me, and we jumped on him first, and he kicked our ass. We got back in time to see the other group finish him off. Getting no loot, since he was a quest-triggered named, and they don't give loot to people not on the quest.

Anyway, I couldn't seem to make him trigger again, so I zoned to TS to sell stuff at the dress merchant and see if that would make him re-pop, since Kroatla the damnable froglok (the last triggered thing I ran away from) popped over and over over the course of about a week until I killed her. While I was zoning, my partner (who was clearing out the trash in the camp based on the theory that they were his placeholders) sent me a message that he'd 'respawned' and some other group had jumped him. I had to talk her down out of going all griefer on their ass -- the tank in the other duo had all the cold forged pieces except the chest, just like me, so this was someone else triggering *their* Oberre to finish the quest.

It was kind of grating to see the inquisitor/guardian duo two levels lower take down the same group that had kicked our shaman/troubador duo's tail unmercifully, though. Troubs are so gimped... we can buff stats a LOT but stats don't do much, and we can't do much else (ooh, I can choose between 5% less damage from spells, or 0.3% power regenerated every six seconds!). We get long casting time direct-damage spells to supply most of our DPS, but the game assumes that we're somehow still auto-attacking while casting them. 9.9 After spending the whole night running away from green solo critters (and dying twice), watching a group without me be that much more effective was like salt on the wounds. u.u

Anyway, after a certain amount of time passed (a half hour?) another Oberre spawned for me, and this time we went after his little outriders first. We had to run away again, but we got a second attempt against the same Oberre (it was getting late and the other groups had moved on), and without his outriders the shaman could ward against him and not have to dump mana on direct healing, so we outlasted him easily.

And now all my armor matches! Except for the helmet. I tried buying a different helmet which was only a slight upgrade (I've got 26 gold, so I can afford 50 silver on trivial things), but it looks even *worse* -- it's bright green and brown, instead of just brown. Neither of them go well with the grey and blue of the cold forged. I guess that's what /showhood is for.
