Such: Lots of comics came in today, highlighted by a new Gold Digger (Yay, were-rats! If they can't do stuff with Gina anymore for some ungodly reason, the were-rat trio is my next choice.) and a new Lucifer (lots of dead angels, but what do you expect?).

There was also a new set of D+D collectable minis, so I bought a few boosters and got a 'steel predator' which looks really cool, and a large copper dragon which really doesn't. The copper dragon's wings are just as ugly in 3d as the illustration in the monster manual made them look. 9:3 But overall, lots of large monsters in the set, including a dire wolverine! Every druid's favorite pet at midlevels!

I figured out why the pizza guys always have such a hard time finding me and end up calling me on my cell phone to ask how to get buzzed in. This time, I went down in person to save them the trip, and checked the call box -- they have me under 'A, Mandelbaum'. Guuuh.

Of course, if they'd just dial my apartment number they wouldn't have to try to navigate the menu at all!

After comics and pizza, EQ2. I got Chitter up to level 10 bard and scholar, doing mostly crafting since he was 8 scout and 3 artisan. The entire Circle of Vaniki (the Temple Street wholesaler) was taken over by the Temple Street Irregulars guild, so I joined up. Actually, I was planning to join up since I heard they existed -- the all rat guild idea appealed to me, and apparently the other one on the server is based out of Qeynos mostly.

So far, guild chat has been swamped with people congratulating each other on levelling up, which I think is going a bit overboard, considering most of the people in the guild are under 20 and are thus levelling up on a regular basis. The new artisan quests helped with that -- they take you from 3 to 9 just doing their tasks.

Anyway, I went scholar because everyone and his brother in the guild is already a craftsman, and the other craft that scouts other than bards need (guild full of rats, guess what archetype is most common!) is alchemist for poisons. Bards can't use poisons, but I made myself a set of various buffing potions. Most of them last a half hour per charge, come with 7 charges, and either give bonuses like +4 to multiple stats or +20 hp, or allow you to recover health and power in combat (34 health, I'm guessing something like 20 power for the tier 1 potions).

I harvested a lot more tier 1 material than I needed, trying to get all my harvesting skills up to 20 so that I wouldn't ever have to harvest in the newbie zones again. It took a loooong time to get foresting up, because a high-level was zipping past everything and taking all the trees. He was ignoring the ?s though, and I got a lot of those.

It also looks like all the harvesting skills are based on strength, because they dropped five points when I lost the +2 strength from some deer jerky I'd eaten. Or maybe something else was going on, like a lingering 'somethingorother's insight'? It was weird.

Eventually, I got to level 10, and could finally use the armor Jiffy made for me -- it bumped my mitigation from 5% to 20%! Technically, it's obsolete at 10, but you know, after buying all the tradeskill books from the vendors for a level 10 scholar I had 28 copper to my name, so it was a godsend. }:)
