Okay, I was reading the EQ2 forums to avoid doing work, and, like I often do, brushed my face with one hand casually. Suddenly, my eye was on fire!
After running around for a bit trying to do all the stupid things I need to do to secure my office for me not being in it, I bolted for the bathroom to use the sink as an improvised eyewash. That seemed to slowly do the trick... it's mostly better now.
But geez. I guess I must have got something nasty on my fingers from somewhere, but it's not like I even touched the inside of my eye or anything. At least not on purpose.
Roll call:
Echaskon
18 Summoner/12 scholar, Freeport on Oasis
Maybe I should call him a bug-herder? I don't want to ever play him again; it's too frustrating.
Terishaell
22 Fury/6 artisan, Qeynos on Grobb
Terrix:
12 Warrior/9 artisan, Freeport (soon Qeynos) on Oasis
I discovered (after making Terrix) that while the stats for Iksar in the manual make them out as good warriors (20 20 25 15 20) their actual stats make them crappy warriors and good scouts or priests (18 22 18 20 22). Sigh. I'd say 'I'll live', but my experience so far amends that to 'I'll die a lot'. };) Currently compensating by enhancing agility and getting a REALLY BIG SHIELD (from an easy fed-ex quest for the church of infinite rage or whatever it's called).
I spent last night working on crafting mostly, because I was too poor to buy armor and I really, really needed some. Not that an artisan can make armor worthy of a warrior. I made a hat and an earring (since I had *nothing* in those slots), and a box, and a crappy backpack... oh, and a bed. }:P And some throwing axes that I sold, since I'm using bow+arrow. Much love for the 'all chloro wash is pristine' patch.
I should probably just make a couple more random things to get up to outfitter levels so that I can start harvesting in the same zone I want to play in. And maybe make some chain or plate or whatever warriors can wear.
The '12' is from a self-styled 'xp group' I was in for a while. I was the main tank -- with my crappy armor, and the lowest level of anyone. There was also a summoner (perpetually out of power, presumably because they kept getting stuck in combat like Echaskon always did) and a scout of some type. No healer. No healer is *bad*, especially when you want your level 11 tank to stand up to level 17-18 monsters. Not gonna happen. Or at least, not going to *work*.
The first couple battles I couldn't get aggro because the mage would lead off with his HOs... everyone else was actually about as durable as me, so this wasn't a huge problem, except that as soon as anything attacked him the summoner would yell to break the encounter and run off, giving us no xp and no loot. So (going from a recommendation on a messageboard) I asked them to let me have the first HO since it was a big taunt. For the rest of the night, they let me have *every* HO, even after I told them that they should use theirs because mine suck (and mine do suck, a lot).
It was also a lot of trouble getting the group to switch to lotto-looting, instead of the rogue's preferred ninja-looting scheme. Once I actually managed to get an item out of a chest, and she complained that I hadn't let her disarm it -- note that she hadn't been disarming them previously, just triggering the traps and quickly snatching the items before anyone else could.
Even she agreed that lotto looting would be better, the trouble was figuring out how to enable it. I think they were setting their default group options in options instead of opening the current group's options, or something.
Still, as crappy of a group as it was, the people seemed to be basically good at heart...
