We sort of had a session of Jeff's D20 Star Wars game last night. Stacey and David showed up late... David didn't do much except work on his character the whole time. Stacey's character, having finally achieved a sufficient level in 'priest of the way' to use dark side powers without going crazy, became our 'dark side bitch'.
The first order of business, after training and talking to Li Shao, was to extend the rental time on their submarine so as to avoid being marked as outlaws. It turned out that they were already too late, though -- the empire had staged a terrorist attack in Foam Wander (the main spaceport) and imposed a curfew over the entire planet. Because of that, their submarine had been recalled. Because the recall/tracking device had been removed from their sub, and placed on a different craft, they'd probably been marked as theives.
Grrr.
So they decided to vanish back underwater and spend some time harvesting high-quality lightsaber crystals, and making themselves new lightsabers. Only Druu Kai was skilled enough at the force power that happened to matter ('see force', normally only useful to track down other force users) to get a specially powered lightsaber, though, which did extra cold damage.
Eventually, they decided, they'd want to forment rebellion on this planet, since it had a large, high-tech indiginous population and the empire was just starting to tighten its grip. But they had time to first explore the abandoned underwater facility they'd found -- maybe it would have something useful in it.
They got in using Ituda's repair and computer use skill, and started moving around inside the complex using their 'jedi lock-picks' (lightsabers). There were two interesting doors inside the facility, marked 'research' and 'armory'. They decided to check out the armory first, figuring that it would be safer... and found some sonic rifles and grenades, still good after 5000 years because they'd been vacuum-sealed (or at least hermetically sealed). The grenades were accidentally detonated by Kunda's jedi lockpick, damaging the suits of heavy armor that were also in the vault, but they did recover the rifles and some ancient powerpacks.
Afterwards, they headed towards research, but there wasn't much there -- the power was off, all the people were long-dead and skeletonized, and there was no real sign of what they'd even been working on.
So, off to the power station to get some power running. Dodger used force lightning to charge up the batteries that were used to jumpstart the generator, getting lots of dark-side points in the process, then they headed back to check the research computers again.
"Oh, it looks like we've all been infected with 'Red-42', a weaponized airborne biological agent that wiped out this facility. 7 days until we're dead, 3 days until we become infectious."
Kuu suggested turning themselves in to the inquisitors, in the interest of spreading some biological love to the Sith. [dark side point] He was outvoted, though -- most of the party preferred actually finding a cure and maybe living to tell the story. So they copied all the encrypted files to the datapad and left the facility (which was falling apart anyway, as turning on the power had triggered its slow destruction somehow), heading for Foam Wander where maybe medical technology had advanced enough in 5000 years that this 'uncurable' disease would be easily remedied.
During the 6 hour trip, Dodger decided to commune with Harth to ask if he knew any way to cure disease. He offered to teach her, burning the knowledge into her brain, which put her into a coma for twelve hours and erased one of her old feats. Not knowing what was going on -- Kuu tried to enter the crystal to check on her, but couldn't get in -- but knowing that separating her forcefully from the crystal might be bad, they decided to pursue a cure by other means while watching and hoping that Dodger would recover on her own.
Approaching Foam Wander secretly was impossible (they found out when challenged by traffic control 10km from the city), and they didn't want to go through official channels, especially in the same city they accidentally stole the sub from. So they found a small outlying town with a wireless holonet hotspot that they wouldn't have to leave the sub to use, and set Ituda to the task of hacking into government databases to find out about Red 42 (after a public search turned up nothing).
The government database didn't have anything useful either, but Ituda's hacking got them all arrested. They warned the military agents who'd come for them about the possible infection, and so were put in a special quarantine ward, with most of their equipment (except for their scannable weapons == blasters), and told that if they didn't all die from the disease within 10 days, they'd be kept imprisoned forever anyway because they knew too much.
Kuu appealed to their captors to not tell the empire about them -- "Imagine what they'd do with a weapon like this!"
"How do you know she's not an Imperial Stooge?" "Well, I don't, but it's not like they wouldn't think of it on their own."
Eventually, Dodger woke up with the knowledge of the dark-side feat 'Eradicate Life', which despite its name was basically 'cure disease'. Just an *evil* cure disease, that gave dark side points for using it. And took a long time. And hurt a lot. And could kill weak people who didn't make their fort saves, although no one in the party was that weak.
Dodger managed to cure everyone but herself by taking 20 (while the rest of the party fed her stamina so that she could keep it up), then locked herself up in the diving suit while she tried to cure herself, since she couldn't take 20 on that and was running out of time before she became infectious. It took several tries, but eventually she was pretty sure that everyone was cured.
"So, can we escape now?" Sepna asked.
"Yeah, we might as well," Kuu replied.

There seems to be a pattern of unrelenting punishment for taking any action in this game. Anything we do not only doesn't work, but makes the overall situation worse. I don't think we've ever done anything that had a positive effect, except possibly on our own personal power.
It's pretty sad when being locked in prison feels like respite.
