Yesterday, we finished up the Shadowrun game. I brought in a new character, 'Cat', a cat shaman... then realized that I'd screwed up and not given him the charisma to support his conjuration, and because I was now low on time I ended up just making him a sorcerous adept. Which kinda sucks. If we keep playing, I might remake him as a shamanic adept, which would let him keep all his really *important* spells and still summon a spirit or two, although I'd have to give him a charisma and the conjuration skill again. Right now he just turns invisible and silent, then plants mines and grenades at peoples' feet.

At any rate, there wasn't really much to the game -- I was assigned to the group as a replacement, we tracked down Flash's apartment, found some bonds from a company in Japan, which we recognized as possibly being from a competitor to the company Flash had been helping ruin, sent them to the agency's deckers, and got back the information we needed.

Then, as we met again with the plant owner to tell him the story, we were ambushed by a sniper backed up by a bunch of low-level thugs. The sniper had the bad judgement to start the ambush within line of sight of Jade's van, though, and was instantly spotted by the surveillance drone's radar and taken out by the frickin' tank cannon on the pop-up turret. Then the rest of us mopped up the thugs.

Afterwards, Tom wanted to play Carcasonne, but since it was early I decided to go hook up with the Sunday gathering if I could catch it. I could. A couple people were still around playing magic, and the rest were playing Mansion with Mychael. I sat around and watched a bit, then we headed over to Kitsunetaur's.

At Kitsunetaur's, a couple people played magic, while the rest played Mansion with Mychael -- but now I had my magic cards! I played some three-person games with Morphy and Soltris, but Soltris was SUCH A WHINER. He complained that I was 'picking on him' and quit in a huff because I kept returning his mana flare to his hand while killing off Morphy, so he couldn't use his six-mana tutor every turn. Um, yeah, that's the point.

To make it worse, he was holding a FIREBALL and could have just killed the damn time elemental instead of conceding.

So, magic got old after a very short while, and after getting slaughtered at Soulcalibur (against people who could remember the moves and make the characters do what they want, which I never can) I joined in a Monopoly game.

I had the worst luck I've ever seen. After ten turns, I quit, since I had ONE property compared to the next lowest player's eight -- the whole game I did nothing but land on other peoples' land, or 'go to jail'. There weren't many properties left on the board to buy at that point, so I figured it was too late to make a comeback.

Since everyone who wasn't playing monopoly had gone to 'Broadway', whatever that is (I hadn't gone because their stated purpose was to buy cigarettes, whee, and because I didn't yet realize just how screwed I'd be in the monopoly game), I decided to just go home.

I watched the DVD for Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex -- cute little mini-tanks! Also played some Yugioh and slaughtered the ghouls and Marik Ishtar. Nothing really exciting.
