In protest of the rise in food prices at the work cafeteria -- everything go about 5% more expensive, but what especially pissed me off was the soup going from $1 to $1.05 -- the group of (mostly) testers I often eat lunch with decided to go somewhere even more expensive to eat. Namely, IHOP.

The array of choices was bewildering, but eventually we all came up with something decent. I inherited the bacon and sausage from the vegetarians' plates, as well as the jalapenos from one of their omelettes -- the last was not planned, and not pleasant for him. *I* like jalapenos.

In the end, the Canadian who got screwed on jalapenos also got screwed by having to pick up the check -- he didn't have cash, so he was going to play with his credit card, so we just gave the money we guessed would cover our meals to him. I'm pretty sure I shortchanged him by a dollar or so -- it was that or overpay by nine.

Somehow, driving two blocks down the street took an hour and a half, instead of the normal half hour. So, not something to do every day.
