Well, I'm on hiatus now, just like Dr. Hadley (I hope, still haven't heard back from Cynthia or Singularity about him). Well, technically, I'm just on vacation -- it's not officially a hiatus unless it goes on long enough that your vacation time doesn't cover it, and I've got, um, about two years saved up.
I'm starting to think that maybe the singularity settings that I've been studying are cursed. After being cancelled and repurposed twice, the old lab *blew up* killing one of the researchers (not me, I project in to work) (okay, I probably should give you enough credit to realize that I wasn't the one killed) and now the new lab was accidentally left behind when the Insectoid Swarm decided to move to a new star system.
If bad luck wasn't enough, there are some... worrying indications that the effects I've been studying might have dangerous side effects. At the very least, I'm going to need to revise my tests to account for and measure this stuff. In two months, when the insectoids arrive and build a replacement lab. Or maybe earlier, if I get bored enough to go back to work and interview another couple dozen pirates to get a new lab.
Really, though, I'm not in any hurry to get back to work. Because it's CURSED! D:
