Okay, I needed two peoples' help to push my car out of a parking space (I'm not sure why that space and ONLY that space had ice under it instead of packed snow to make the slight incline into an inescapable car trap -- but getting pushed was a lot easier than chipping out the ice with my window scraper, which was going to be my next attempt), and then had to run a red light to get a run up the hill right by my house (WTF -- it was like a 5 second green light and a 1 second yellow, I swear, otherwise I wouldn't have accelerated too fast to stop for it. Luckily the one person waiting for the light saw me coming, although I think I might have been able to dodge them if they'd started moving, since I wasn't totally out of control) (or I might not have, brr), so weather conditions are officially too crappy for me to drive in.
Fresh fallen, slightly melting snow over a packed-snow crust from the previous snowfall. Really, really fucking slippery. When I LEFT home the snowfall was really really light and driving was pretty normal, but then FLOOMF while I was at the mall. After having to get pushed out of one space, I decided to head right home instead of staying for lunch and risking being trapped again...
I guess I should look into getting chains. Or maybe, you know, a snowmobile.
