The rest of the weekend
Jan. 8th, 2006 11:21 pmSaturday, I played some City of Villains (or, as people online seem to be calling it now, 'CoX') and finished up Chrono Trigger, Black Omen and all. I had a ludicrous number of megalixers after stealing them and finding them all through the Black Omen, along with Gold Studs and Vigil Hats/Nova Armors for all my party members if they had nothing better to equip, and didn't use even a single one, because blasting everything with Magus' Dark Matter and Crono's Luminaire did the trick.
Sunday, all day was spent going to furry gatherings. First was the seattle dragons thing at seatac-i-mean-commons, which hardly anyone showed up to, then to the Southcenter gather which *everyone* showed up to, making up for last week when literally no one did. After that most headed to Legend's, of course.
There was a lot of magic, with Lex and Soltris and even Slox showing up to play. Slox was able to be there because he lost his job, so that wasn't really a good thing, but we had fun playing magic and cuddling and tickle-torturing Twidget (and me) (and this otter whose name I can't remember offhand).
Won some and lost some in magic... Soltris' decks kept self-destructing -- he'd lock down the board with ensnaring bridge and contamination, but end up with nothing to dump the mana from his black markets into and mana-burn to death.
Slox built a deck using all the cool-looking rares from his trade binder, which won most of the games it played solely on the strength of Umezawa's Jitte, since most of the other decks were jitteless, and it had a lot (4 reclaim, 4 eternal witness) of graveyard recursion to bring back the jitte if it was killed, and a ludicrous number (4 naturalize, 4 viridian zealots) of naturalize effects to deal with fetters and confiscates. Did I ever mention I hate Umezawa's Jitte, and wish it was banned? Yes, I did mention it. In fact, I complained about it at length after it shut down my ninja deck twice in a row by killing all my creatures, although ornithopters not being able to get past birds of paradise didn't help. }:)
Grr. It looks like someone gave me a flea. I must catch it before my house is infested! Nooo!
