In a future time...
Mar. 14th, 2005 03:29 pmWhy does Robin Williams keep getting work? He ruined Robots. Of course, it was already on shakey ground with its amazingly blatant communist philosophy -- the explicit message was for the workers to rise up in bloody revolt and overthrow their corporate masters by killing them. The hidden subtext was pro-slavery, since the hero's main accomplishment was creating a subrace of robots that he intended to sell as servants to make 'real' robots' lives easier.
Actually, though, the society was *so* dysfunctional that I kind of enjoyed it. Even with Robin Williams taking a crap all over every scene he got his grubby little paws on, which was most of them. Grr.
