Well, the Sunday gathering I went to was held at southcenter this time. I didn't get to play much magic because, again, the only person who plays magic who went down to southcenter was Kitsunetaur. Well, skykit was there, but didn't have his cards.

The food's a lot worse at southcenter, and more expensive. I got a couple chili dogs and a drink from the Dairy Queen and, while the dogs were good, it came to more than $10, compared to $7 for a (much better) burrito and drink at Crossroads. Maybe one of the other places would have been better, although I didn't see anything that looked good... their mexican place, for example, is a Taco Time. Ick.

There was also some talk about whether or not we actually had permission to hang out in the food court, aside from the 'it's a public area' default that people seemed to think wasn't sufficient at Crossroads. Cal said he asked the management, but hadn't heard back, so he was going to start pestering them and demanding an answer -- this seems like an unbelievably stupid move to me, since whenever you rush someone in authority they always say 'no'.

So, after a ridiculously short meet, we headed back to Legend's. EVERYONE headed to Legend's. Legend had to eventually throw half the people out, basically at random from what I could tell. We watched Ice Pirates and another Urusei Yatsura movie, which were good, at least, then got shown dozens of 3d card benchmarks that I suppose were supposed to be impressive. The lengths that they have to go to to challenge modern cards -- let's individually render each strand of hair! -- just sort of made me go 'wow, what an inefficient way to render the scene', though.
