Sunday of Confusion
Feb. 21st, 2005 10:18 amSo, there was a gathering this sunday at Crossroads. It was a little smaller than normal, because Legend and some of the other regulars went to Southcenter instead. Once we realized that, we decided to head down there and join them, because it was around the time we normally left crossroads anyway.
Unfortunately, it turned out Legend hadn't been planning to have an alternate gathering at Southcenter; he'd invited the missing people to dinner with him at the Rainforest Cafe, which is a sit-down restaurant. We got there while his party was still waiting to be seated, and after hearing the projected wait time for a party of fifteen, we just headed to the food court instead, where we passively evicted people from the big tables (by sitting down in empty seats next to them, making them uncomfortable enough to go sit down elsewhere) until we could all fit. The Southcenter food court was huge, but also *packed*.
I spent a lot of time trying to find a deck of mine weak enough to lose against Kitsunetaur. The snake deck finally managed it, drawing eight lands in a row and only getting him down to one life before he turned the game around and won.
I shouldn't tease him, though -- he's working from a very restricted card set, while I've been splurging at the card shop, buying up any common or uncommon that I didn't get in packs and think would help my decks and/or looks cool. I let him have the rest of my extra commons, but I already let him take his pick of them earlier, so it's unlikely that he'll find anything really useful in there.
Afterwards we went to Legends and watched a very boring movie called 'Allegria', and then the sixth Urusei Yatsura movie, which was a lot funnier, even if I'd seen it already. He had snacks out, and I couldn't stop myself from eating slices of cheese dipped in cheese sauce. x.x I managed to avoid taking any of the pizza, though.
