Where does the time go...
Feb. 17th, 2005 10:09 amI haven't played D+D with Speckles in a while... basically, when all my other games are actually happening, I'm getting enough D+D and don't really want yet another campaign -- online, two person, and randomly generated at that! And sometimes I just have something better to do, which tends to eat up the entire week.
This week, for instance, Monday was Darksun, Tuesday was fixing my character sheets after Monday's Darksun (this took about three hours!), and Wednesday was Lost -- only an hour for the show, but it's the middle hour of the three that Speckles can usually be there for on weeknights.
Not to mention that *after* Lost I got online and started playing Magic with '-tk-', who isn't anyone I particularly know, but was persistent in asking for another game each time... the first game alone took forever, as it was rats vs rats. "Okay, I'll play a ravenous rats. Discard." "I'll play Ravenous Rats, discard." "I'll attack with my ravenous rats." "I'll block, they both die." "I'll play a nezumi graverobber." "Devour in Shadow. Nezumi graverobber." "Echoing decay." ( And so on. )
I went on the net once I was done with that, but it was latish already and I only had time to read webcomics and such before midnight, when more TV shows I like to watch came on. Especially Inu Yasha, which is showing episodes I haven't seen before on weeknights lately. I always fall asleep during the middle of it, when they put a single 10-minute commercial break (this might be exaggeration), but since I got the DVR I can just rewind once I wake up and not miss any of it.
Which is basically why I don't just cancel it entirely. It's slightly more convenient even when you can't rely on it to record shows unattended.
