We had the monthy team lunch today, at Claim Jumper. God, they kept us waiting a long time. For some reason, they didn't want to take our order until everyone was there, and there were two people who were late. Now, they'd told us to just order for them, but the waitresses just stayed out of sight quietly for about an hour until they finally arrived.

Even after they took our order, it took a good long time for the food to come. All told, we got back to the building two and a half hours after we left. So much for productivity. v.v

I bought a used i-pod transmitter thingie from a guy at work, and it works a lot better than the old one I had, which was analog and tended to lose the station gradually as the car's vibrations shifted it off true. It's HUGE, though, and complicated, and has this massive armature that holds it in place... which is why the guy was selling it. But it fits in my car okay.

I wanted an excuse to use it, though, so after work I headed over to Redmond Town Center to... well, mostly to waste some time driving, although I was hoping to pick up some more shrines for my sunburst deck. I found some white ones, but no more red ones, damn it all.

While I was there I tried to find a blank tape, but all they had at Borders were blank CDs and DVDs... so I was forced to scavenge for a blank tape through my collection. I discovered that I had a LOT more stuff taped than I remembered, as I was searching through the boxes. Nothing I really wanted to tape over, though...

Finally, five minutes before the show started, I found a tape that only had the first two hours occupied (with 'The Neverending Story', which seemed fitting). That'd do. I popped it in, fast-forwarded to the right place, and hit 'play' just as 'The Legend of Earthsea' came on.

The show is... interesting. The effects are good, but most of the actors read their lines way too fast. And too perfunctorily. But it's a decently interesting story anyway.
