Not a good day, so far...
Oct. 22nd, 2004 11:35 amI had a dream that I was part of a force sent to pacify the elven nation, which consisted of about 20 elves living in a sort of half-enclosed strip mall made of wicker surrounding a lake. Who wouldn't stop killing each other.
( this part is TMI )
Anyway, since I'm still a little high (216ish instead of the 215 I've been holding) -- a result of the fricking bake sale; I ended up eating something like nine of those damn brownies, and bought milk to go with them, then ended up with extra milk and bought some cookies to finish it off -- I decided to have a salad, unless there was something unusually good being offered at the cafeteria.
Well, there was nothing special at all being offered -- just the usual. Some of the usual looked a AWFUL lot better than the salad did, but I decided to try to stick to prinicples or whatever and have a salad anyway.
Of course, like everything else, the price of a salad has gone up dramatically. You can get a small salad cheaper than a large one, but both the per-ounce and max charges went up by more, percentage wise, than anything else. So I tried to stick to only the things I knew I liked on salads, and that were fairly light. Lettuce, onions, garbanzo beans, blue cheese. No cottage cheese, no meat, they weren't even offering Tofu...
At any rate, I ended up with a thoroughly unexciting salad, which was still a hassle to eat because they had the wrong kind of onions (the big thick red kind). I choked it down, and staggered out of the cafeteria with a nasty taste in my mouth, the kind that can only be washed out by... donuts.
Yep, there were a couple free donuts left in the admin's office, so I snagged them. Not really my favorite kind of donuts, but anything would be better than tasting that salad for a minute longer.
ALSO, Stacey still hasn't sent out directions to get to her house, where she offered to host tonight's game. I can understand being flakey... but why even make the offer? I guess I'll show up at Lazar's... if nothing else, I can ask Sandy if she knows the way.
EDIT: It looks like she actually sent the directions out yesterday, but Yahoo was excessively slow getting the mail out. Well, I have them now, at least. }:P
