The weekend didn't really seem all that long. But then, it never does, afterwards. Not even if I stretch it out to two weeks.

Also, my lead is back from vacation, so I have to think about how much work I look like I'm doing, again.

Apparently, one of the big announcements at WWDC was Apple deprecating Quickdraw. For the last month or so, I've been working at converting drawing from quickdraw over to core graphics, so, yay! Kinda.

There was a Shadowrun game yesterday, that I 'forgot' to do a summary for, because there wasn't really much to summarize: we met a guy in a bar, got a job, got attacked by the world's stupidest gangbangers (They pulled a switchblade on Ed's street samurai. A *switchblade*. While he was holding an assault rifle.), killed them all, then drove to a haunted factory. Tune in next week, for the exciting warehouse scene!

And, I've been playing a lot of Front Mission 4. It's fun, so far, although the last simulator mission I tried was depressing. 12 enemies with rifles, that (for once) all converge and attack you at the same time, and have an uncanny ability to hit your torso every time and do double damage, without appearing to activate any skills. My own rifle guy does the same thing quite often, to be fair, but I only have one of him right now.

I got my butt kicked -- good thing it was only in the imaginary simulator, instead of being a real imaginary battle!

Lazy summer day,
Stuck at work, slaving away,
Cold, rainy, and gray.

Pimples

I have acne. I've had it for as long as I can remember -- one of my earliest memories is of being held down squirming on a cold metal table while a pediatrician stabbed at my genitals with an acid-coated metal needle, as part of a scorched-scrotum campaign against a particular outbreak.

It didn't work, although nowadays I mostly get them on my face. I asked my so-called doctor at Group Health Cooperative about them, and he recommended I use clearasil or stridex or something. Which I've been doing for as long as I can remember.

Recently, though, as in the last month or so, the incidence of new pimples has been relatively light and sporadic, and more to the point, dramatically concentrated -- all the pimples I had last week appeared suddenly on the same day. The same day I had a mocha!

To test the theory (and as an excuse to get another of the really quite tasty oatmeal muffins the starbucks has) I had a latte today, and sure enough, before an hour had passed, BOOM, pimple.

So, is the culprit:
(a) coffee
(b) milk
(c) chocolate (I had some last night)
(d) oatmeal muffins
(e) coincidence?

Actually, my money's on (c). I know that when I used to eat entire boxes of thin mints during girl scout season, I'd get mint-flavored pimples for weeks afterwards...
