Sunday, I went to the movie gather. The movies were starting around 1:30, so I figured everyone would show up by noon to have time to talk, even though Jurann said not to come 'till 1. I was wrong, although Snowwy and Digi and a couple other people started trickling in around 12:30. Instead, most people went to the very late showing of Peter Pan at 4ish -- there were only 5 of us going to the 1:45 showing of Paycheck.

Paycheck was a decent movie, although it couldn't seem to decide if seeing the future let you change it or not. I think the most consistent explanation would be 'yes, you can change it, but the main character is an idiotic luddite'.

Moday we decided not to run an interim game of D+D, because everyone was on vacation and no one really felt like it. I spent the day playing some Fire Emblem, which increases the value by making you play most battles several times, until you can do it with no casualties. Despite the enemies that can kill most of your army in one hit. Yes that's it -- it's not frustrating perversity, it's *value*. Also, some Thief of Time, which is about as good as everyone seems to think.

I also worked up actual stats and powers for Snowwy's character's enemies, who are about to chase him off Mars. I feel confident in their ability to do so, especially considering how godawful weak most of the players made their characters. Versatility only goes so far.

Oh, I also got a new DVD player. I couldn't find one of the brand recommended, so I got one by 'Magnavox', who made the VCR I've been using for years and years without trouble. Except when I got home, I discovered, OOPS! Hitachi made my current VCR. Magnavox made my old VCR, which broke after about six months. I go beat head against wall now.

Anyway, that night, right about the time I wanted to go to bed, some car decided it was going to honk its horn continuously. I mean, it went on for more than an hour. I lay there in bed closing my eyes repeating "There's no reason for this to keep me awake. It isn't *that* loud. I'm going to sleep now." until someone finally made it stop. There was loud arguing and some mechanical type noises, so I'm not sure it was the car's owner doing it.

Not sure what I'm going to do today, but I'll think of something.

EDIT: The honking has started again, for the last fifteen minutes or so. It's not steady this time, it's definately someone hitting the horn again and again in random patterns. ARGH.
